Fitness Ball Barbell Crunches Technique Instructions

Fitness Ball Barbell Abs Crunches
Technique - Start by sitting down on the fitness ball with your feet shoulder width apart. Position the fitness ball so that the lower portion of your back muscles are supported. At this point it may be easier if someone can hand you the barbell. Grip the barbell in a wide position with your palms facing forwards and line the barbell up evenly across the back of your neck. Start the exercise once you have found your balance. Inhale as you roll your back down backwards over the fitness ball until you feel your abs muscles stretch. Exhale as you pull your abs muscles back to the starting position again keeping your balance whilst maintaining strong control over the barbell. Lean forwards at the top of the motion and squeeze your abs muscles inwards. Do not allow any longer than a 1 count before starting the next rep as this will maintain pressure on the abs muscles and increase the overall benefits of the exercise.
