Basic Sit-Ups Technique Instructions

Basic Sit Ups
Technique - Start by sitting down on the floor in an area that will provide enough space to perform the exercise. Position your feet shoulder width apart with your legs in a triangular position. Lay back onto the floor and place your hands behind your head interlacing your fingers together. Exhale as you crunch your upper body forwards sitting up until your elbow reach your knees. Allow your lower back to raise from the floor. Squeeze your abs muscles inwards and hold the position for a count of 1. Inhale as you lower your upper body down back to the starting position in a slow, controlled manner allowing your back to lay flat on the floor. Keep your legs in a strong position throughout the exercise. Do not allow any longer than a 1 count between reps as this will maintain pressure on the abs muscles and increase the overall benefits of the exercise.
